Systemic fragility as a sign of possibility rather than collapse

Systemic fragility as a sign of possibility rather than collapse

I’m back at the keyboard after a challenging Summer that ended with an interesting opportunity to step up in front of a community in Sweden and start talking about the building blocks of a more generative society.

For months, I have had this thought in my mind:

What if the cracks we see in our civic and social institutions are no signs of collapse but the first signs of transformation?

Have a listen to a conversation about cultural imbalances, about our relationship to our individualistic, single-lifetime horizon, economic-centered habits and behaviors, and achievement-centered systems and how and why they might have gotten how they are — and what we can start to do differently to find a new balance and move in more humane directions. How might we react differently to these cracks if we saw them as opportunities for a long-overdue transformation and genuine redemption?
